Engineering Research Internships
The STEAM Ahead Research Internship Program, in partnership with Boston College, is a unique opportunity for high school students to gain hands-on experience in a real collegiate research setting. Over the course of the program, selected students will be embedded in active research labs within Boston College School of Engineering, working alongside professors, research assistants, and undergraduate mentors.
Interns will participate in guided research projects focused on real-world issues like clean water, wireless communication, and environmental science. In addition to lab work, students will engage in professional development workshops, explore STEM career pathways, and connect with peers and mentors through community-building events. The experience will culminate in a final presentation, where students will showcase their research and reflect on their growth.
This program is ideal for rising 11th and 12th grade students who are curious, motivated, and eager to explore what it’s like to be a college-level researcher. No prior lab experience is required—just a strong interest in science, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to full participation.
