Alix Holder

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Alix has over a decade of experience working in the fields of technology and entrepreneurship.  He has led product development for a number of organizations including America Online (AOL), Dell-EMC, ValoreBooks (acquired by Follett), Cengage Learning and is an active member of the entrepreneurial community serving as a consultant to several commercial and non-profit organizations. He graduated with honors from Northeastern University, holding two Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. Outside of STEAM Ahead, Alix is a diehard Boston sports fan and is passionate about positively impacting his hometown.

Alix loves design, architecture, and music (please don’t ask him to sing though).


Loren Murphy Paul

Co-Founder

Loren has over a decade of experience in leadership, engineering and technology roles. She has held roles as Worldwide Data & AI Sales and Enablement Leader at IBM as well as technical account manager and technical evangelist. Prior to IBM, Loren worked as a design and software engineer for GE Healthcare. A native of Chester, Virginia, Loren received a Masters of Science in Computing from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia, where she graduated as a Rodman Scholar. Loren’s passion for exposing girls and underserved communities to S.T.E.M. is what drives her daily and inspires her work at STEAM Ahead.

Passion for S.T.E.A.M:

Since Loren was young she loved building experiments for science fairs and exploring different technologies.


Wesley Davis

Wesley grew up in Burlington, VT, fostering a lifelong love of learning. After graduating from Hamilton College (Clinton, NY) with a dual major in German Language and Medieval History, Wes started off his career in education teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Recruited from education into tech, Wes has since joined numerous Seed and A-Round startups in foundational and leadership roles responsible for customer success, revenue generation, systems administration and software engineering. Wes first started working with STEAM Ahead as a coding instructor after attending the Launch Academy bootcamp and is now helping to develop valuable and successful partnerships and engagement opportunities.

Passion for S.T.E.A.M:

Wes has always been drawn to games and toys based on mathematics, design, and strategy, and he enjoys learning the science of languages, whether spoken by humans or computers.
